Sustainability and Ethics

At Alpha-H, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We know we can't save the world overnight, but collectively we can strive to minimise our footprint and safeguard the environment for the sake of future generations.

Our conscious formulations

We’re passionate about supporting local producers and suppliers, so we make it a priority to formulate our products with local ingredients wherever possible.

Wherever possible, Alpha-H’s ingredients are sourced from certified sustainable RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) suppliers, and working towards formulating exclusively with sustainable sources. We also never formulate with any questionable ingredients that could cause harm to ourselves or our environment.

We do not conduct animal testing on any of our products and we only engage with suppliers that meet strict requirements to ensure our entire supply chain is cruelty free.

Our packaging

Roughly 30-35% of our tubes and bottles are made from recycled materials. Beyond this, Alpha-H’s tubes, bottles and cardboard packaging are all widely recyclable.

New technology means that over a third of post-consumer recycled resin (PCR resin) can be used in packaging, without compromising the integrity of the product.

We choose post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials whenever possible and try to ensure almost everything we send out is recyclable. Nonetheless, packaging is a complex area, and we are the first to admit there is no perfect solution.

There are pros and cons of both glass (heavy to ship, great to recycle) and plastic (light to ship, can be recycled) - so we use a mix of both.

We are always working to innovate and improve, striving to do our best for our customers and the planet.

Reinventing waste with NuGrow

Alpha-H's transformative approach revitalises more than just skin.

We partner with NuGrow to manage our liquid waste in the most sustainable and circular ways we've found.

NuGrow is Queensland’s leader in recycling and revegetation. They convert liquid, solid, food organics, garden organics and green waste into high-grade composts, premium soils and soil conditioners.

These are used for land rehabilitation projects such as a growing medium or as a substitute for synthetic fertilisers. They rejuvenate degraded land by improving ecological and biological integrity through improved soil fertility and micro-life.

Powered by sustainable energy

To make the most of our natural resources, our Gold Coast factory and warehouse facilities are powered with the help of 195 solar panels.

Measuring some 325m2, this clean energy solution reduces our CO2 emissions by almost 67,000kg per year. Any excess power is returned to the grid.

This means we're entirely powered by sustainable energy sources, with over 60% of our energy generated by our own solar power at our Gold Coast home.

1% for the Planet

At Alpha-H, we're proud members of 1% for the Planet.

We know climate change and the destruction of the natural world are defining issues for our community, and that there’s always more we can do when it comes to minimising our environmental impact.

As a 1% for the Planet partner, Alpha-H commits 1% of all sales of our cult Liquid Gold Exfoliating Treatment to Women in Ocean Science, a non-profit organisation tackling gendered issues in marine science and conservation.
